Women's Soccer Edged in Fourth Double-Overtime Match of the Season

Playing its fourth double-overtime match already this season, the Hope College women's soccer team fell in the final minutes, 1-0, to Elmhurst College (Illinois) on Saturday in Chicago.

Yasmin Chavez scored with 1 minute, 13 seconds remaining in the second 10-minute overtime period for Elmhurst.

The Flying Dutch outshot their non-league opponent by a 17-11 margin.

Hope made Elmhurst goalkeeper Sophia Tuliglowski make eight saves, including three during nearly 20 minutes of overtime.

The Flying Dutch received six saves from goalkeeper Jordanne Ellingboe of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven).

Hope's record is now 0-2-3. Elmhurst is 2-2-1.

The Flying Dutch's next match is Friday, September 20 vs. Ohio Wesleyan University at Van Andel Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
