Emma Schaefer and the Hope College women's swimming & diving team made big splashes at the Michigan-Illinois Quad on Saturday at Holland Community Aquatic Center
The Flying Dutch won four events en route to a first-place score of 589 points.
Schaefer had a hand in two victories. The freshman from DeWitt, Michigan (St. Johns HS took first in the 200-yard breaststroke of 2 minutes, 31.51 seconds and the 200 individual medley in 2:15.76.
Paula Nolte finished runner-up in the 200 individual medley with a swim of 2:1864. The sophomore from Elmhurst, Illinois (York Community) also took third in the 200 breaststroke at 2:33.84.

Palajac finished runner-up in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:58.33. Reynolds was third at 2:05.56.
Peel took second in the 50 freestyle with a swim of 25.28 seconds. Junior Sydney Asselin of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian) was third at 25.29.
The 400 freestyle relay of Emmert, sophomore Erica Slenk of Zeeland, Michigan (Holland Christian), Schaefer, and Asselin was third at 3:51.03.
Reynolds placed third in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:34.30.
Asselin came in third in the 100 freestyle with a swim of 57.19 seconds.
Sophomore Sophia Palajac of Dearborn, Michigan (Dearborn) was third in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:31.84.
Junior Sara Plohetski of South Lyon, Michigan (South Lyon) came in third in 1-meter diving with a season-best, six-dive total of 250.10 points. She was third in 3-meter diving with a score of 222.10.
