Women's Swimming & Diving Tops Alma, Stays Unbeaten In MIAA

The Hope College women's swimming and diving team remained undefeated in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association dual meets with a 119.5-89.5 Senior Day victory against Alma College on Saturday.

The Flying Dutch won eight events against the Scots, including two relays.

Sara Plohetski of South Lyon, Michigan (South Lyon HS) swept the diving events. She won the 3-meter board with a six-dive total of 267.50 points and the 1-meter board with a score of 247.15 points.

Junior Alison Sobkowski of Portage, Indiana (Portage) clocked a winning 200-yard freestyle time of 2 minutes, 6.57 seconds.

Junior Paula Nolte of Elmhurst, Illinois (York Community) won the 50 freestyle in 26.96 seconds.

Sophomore Emma Schaefer of DeWitt, Michigan (St. Johns) took first in the 200 individual medley with a swim of 2:12.85.

Sophomore Hope Reynolds of Exon, Pennsylvania (Villa Maria Academy) posted a winning 100 freestyle effort of 58.99 seconds.

Hope's next meet is Saturday, February 9 against Calvin College at Holland Community Aquatic Center.
