The Hope College women's swimming and diving team won one event and finished runner-up in two others at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Relays on Friday at Calvin University.
In the 500-yard progressive relay, freshman Sydney Randall of Byron Center, Michigan (Byron Center), freshman Emily Kurt of South Lyon, Michigan (South Lyon), junior Emma Schaefer of DeWitt, Michigan (St. Johns) and freshman Tarah Lang of Marshall, Michigan (Marshall), pictured from left, clocked a first-place time of 4 minutes, 46.89 seconds.
In the 1,500 freestyle relay, sophomore Paige Kuhn of Dorr, Michigan (Hamilton), sophomore Abigail LaDuke of Holland, MIchigan (West Ottawa) and senior Alison Sobkowski of Portage, Michigan (Portage) recorded a second-place swim of 16:46.15.
In the 400 individual medley relay, sophomore Allyson Kerkman of South Bend, Indiana (St. Joseph), junior Paula Nolte of Elmhurst, Illinois (York Community), sophomore Aubrey East of Farmington Hills, Michigan (North Farmington) and Schaefer posted a runner-up swim of 4:14.53.
The MIAA Relays were a non-scoring meet.
Hope's next meet is the two-day Davenport University Quad on Friday-Saturday, November 1-2 at East Kentwood High School.
