The Hope College women's swimming and diving team finished the weekend by taking second overall at the two-day quad at Hudsonville High School.
The Flying Dutch recorded a total of 833 points — one point behind first-place Albion College. Franklin College (Indiana) placed third with 746 points, while DePauw University (Indiana) was fourth with 613.
Freshman Olivia Robertson from Sturgis, Michigan (Sturgis HS) took first place in 3-meter diving with a score of 331.75 points.
Junior Emma Schaefer of DeWitt, Michigan (St. Johns) came in second in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2 minutes, 14.45 seconds.
Sophomore Emma Engle of Kalamazoo, Michigan (Home School) finished second in the 1650-yard freestyle with a swim of 18:28.92.
In the 200-yard Freestyle, freshman Tarah Lang of Marshall, Michigan (Marshall) and freshman Sydney Randall of Byron Center, Michigan (Byron Center) took third and fourth — just milliseconds apart. Lang clocked in with a time of 1:59.62 followed by Randall's time of 1:59.72.
Lang also posted a third-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:15.48 and third-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing at 5:17.34.
Senior Paula Nolte of Elmhurst, Illinois (York Community) took third in the 100 breaststroke After clocking in at 1:11.18.
Freshman Alyssa Kerkman of South Bend, Indiana (St. Joseph) placing third in the 400 IM with a time of 4:54.13.
Sophomore Aubrey East of Farmington Hills, Michigan (North Farmington) in the 200 breaststroke at 2:34.70.
Hope's next meets are Saturday, January 25 at both Alma College and at East Kentwood High School against Davenport University and Saginaw Valley State University.
