The Hope College women's swimming and diving team closed the regular season with a 170-126 Senior Day victory against Kalamazoo College on Saturday at the Dow Center.
Freshman Tarah Lang of Marshall, Michigan (Marshall HS) recorded two first-place finishes: the 200-yard freestyle in 1 minute, 59.50 seconds and the 500 freestyle at 5;20.71.
The Flying Dutch swept the top three spots in the 100 breaststroke. Sophomore Aubrey East of Farmington (North Farmington HS) finished first with a time of 1:11.77. Senior Paula Nolte of Elmhurst, Illinois (York Community) took second at 1:12.05. Freshman Avery Covert of South Lyon, Michigan (South Lyon HS) placed third at 1:12.25.
Nolte and East also went back-to-back to top the 200 breaststroke. East took first touching in at 2:27.60, followed by Nolte with a time of 2:38.18.
Junior Emma Schaefer of DeWitt, Michigan (St. Johns), freshman Jenna Kloosterman of Hamilton, Michigan (Hamilton), and freshman Sydney Randall of Byron Center, Michigan (Byron Center) also had winning performances.
Schaefer claimed first in the 200 individual medley, touching in at 2:14.6.
Kloosterman finished at 1:00.28 in the 100-yard butterfly.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Randall clocked in at 25.79.
The Flying Dutch posted the fastest time in the 200 medley relay. Senior Erin Emmert of Grand Blanc, Michigan (Flint Powers Catholic), Schaefer, Kloosterman and freshman Emily Kurt of South Lyon, Michigan (South Lyon) clocked a swim of 1:53.41.
Hope's next meet is the MIAA Championships on Wednesday-Saturday, February 19-22 at Calvin University.
