Women's Tennis Downs Oberlin In Matchup Of Nationally Ranked Teams

The 21st-ranked Hope College women's tennis team topped No. 39 Oberlin, Ohio 6-3 on Friday at DeWitt Tennis Center.

The Flying Dutch earned points in the top four flights of singles play and the top two flights of doubles play. Both teams entered the match ranked in the Top 10 of the Central Region.

Three Hope players claimed both singles and doubles victories.

Sophomore Amanda Bandrowski of Traverse City, Michigan (St. Francis HS) won at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles with partner Bailey Chorney of Waunakee, Wisconsin (Waunakee).

Sophomore Claire Hallock of Lakeland, Florida (Harrison Center) won at No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles with partner Taylor LaBarge of Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville).

LaBarge also won at No. 3 singles.

Hope (1-2 overall) returns to action on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Case Western Reserve, Ohio at DeWitt Tennis Center.
