Women's Tennis Powers Past Kalamazoo For Third MIAA Victory

Three league matches in six days proved no problem for the Hope College women's tennis team.

The Flying Dutch swept visiting Kalamazoo College 9-0 Tuesday at DeWitt Tennis Center for their third Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association victory since Thursday.

Hope is now 3-0 in MIAA matches and 5-6 overall.

Three Flying Dutch singles players extended individual winning streaks as well.

Sophomore Claire Hallock of Lakeland, Florida (Harrison Center HS) won for the ninth consecutive time with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles against Maddy Winarski.

Sophomore Amanda Bandrowski of Traverse City, Michigan (St. Francis) topped her seventh consecutive opponent with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles against Maria Franco.

Senior Natalie Rahrig of Fort Wayne, Indiana (Bishop Luers) claimed her sixth consecutive victory with a 6-0, 6-3 decision at No. 4 singles against Alex Oswalt.
