The Hope College women's tennis team defeated Augustana College 6-3 on Saturday to wrap up the two-day Midwest Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin.
The Flying Dutch earned points in four singles flights and two doubles flights against Augustana (16-7).
At No. 1 singles, sophomore Amanda Bandrowski of Traverse City, Michigan (St. Francis HS) defeated Caitlyn Schaffer 6-1, 6-2.
At No. 3 singles, junior Taylor LaBarge of Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville HS) beat Zeana Badawi 6-3, 7-5.
At No. 4 singles, senior Natalie Rahrig of Fort Wayne, Indiana (Bishop Luers HS) topped Faith Johnson 6-0, 6-0.
At No. 6 singles, sophomore Liz Pniewski of Lowell, Michigan (Grand Rapids Catholic Central) downed Morgan Bullen 6-3, 6-1.
At No. 2 doubles, Bandrowski and freshman Bailey Chorney of Waunakee, Wisconsin (Waunakee), edged Timm and Badawi 9-8 (3).
At No. 3 doubles, Rahrig and junior Erin LaBarge of Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville) claimed an 8-5 victory against Bullen and Maleeha Chowdhury.
The Flying Dutch are now 6-8 on the season.
On Friday, Hope lost to 12th-ranked Washington-St. Louis 8-0 and to Wisconsin-Whitewater 7-0.
