The Hope College women's tennis team took three flights from 10th-ranked University of Chicago during a 6-3 non-league loss on Saturday.
It was the season opener for the Flying Dutch, who are ranked 39th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association NCAA Division III poll.
At No. 1 doubles, juniors Claire Hallock of Lakeland, Florida (Harrison Center HS) and Amanda Bandrowski of Traverse City, Michigan (St. Francis) teamed for an 8-4 victory against Chicago's Marjorie Antohi and Lauren Park.
At No. 2 singles, Bandrowski defeated Park, 6-3, 6-3.
At No. 3 singles, freshman Sydney Jackson of Fort Wayne, Indiana (Carroll) beat Catherine Wu, 6-4, 6-4.
Hope's next match is Friday, February 15 at Oberlin College (Ohio).
