GET TO KNOW

Why did you choose to attend Hope College? I loved that it iss a small school, meaning I can get a lot of personal attention regarding academics. Additionally I feel the people genuinely care for your well-being and want you to succeed in life.

What were your favorite subjects in high school? Science

Name a role model or models who have impacted your life? And describe how. My parents, growing up they taught me the importance of hard work, graciousness, and compassion for others. I would not be the person I am today without them.

If you have chosen a major, please explain how you plan to use it after graduation. I plan to go to medical school after graduation.

List a favorite Bible verse and why it is meaningful to you. John 1:5 "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." This verse constantly reminds me that while I may be struggling at the moment, something good can come out of any situation I come across, no matter how small that good thing may be. I keep this verse in mind when I start to lose faith during bad times, and remember that kindness and positivity do more good than anger and frustration.

What is your favorite pregame meal or snack? I wish I had one, but eating before races has never ended well for me.

Where is your favorite place on campus? Why? I love going to the rotunda in Martha Miller. The view is beautiful and especially uplifting when trying to study!

What is your favorite pre-game music? I always listen to "Lose Yourself" by Eminem

If you could play another sport, regardless of skill, what would it be and why? Snowboarding. I'd love to be able to do tricks on the half pipe!

What is the best advice you’ve ever received? Begin each day with a grateful heart.

Please list any service opportunities you plan to be engaged with this year: Both on campus and off campus. (i.e. Mortar Board, CASA, Dance Marathon, Boys & Girls Club). Mortar Board, AED, Women in Science and Engineering, Disability Network, Children's Advocacy Center
