Shot putter Jenna Breuker finished runner-up to top the Hope College women's outdoor track & field team at the Emory Invitational on Saturday in Atlanta, Georgia.
The freshman from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Eastern HS), pictured, heaved a toss of 12.3 meters (44 feet, 4 ½ inches).
The Flying Dutch recorded six scoring performances on Saturday and finished fifth out of 28 scoring teams with 44 points.
Sophomore Brooke Truszkowski of Traverse City, Michigan (T.C. Central) placed fourth in the 1,500 meters by clocking a time of 5 minutes, 8.21 seconds.
Hope's 4x400 relay of junior Nicole Kruithof of Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian), senior Allison VanderStoep of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa), junior Sally Hansma of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Jenison) and junior Chelsea Miskelley of Holland, Michigan (Black River) came in sixth with a time of 4:06.22.
Sophomore Gretchen Koster of Falmouth, Michigan (McBain) recorded a seventh-place discus toss of 35.36 meters (116-0).
Pole vaulter Emma Johnson of Wentzville, Missouri (Timberland) finished seventh after clearing 33.0 meters (9-10).
Miskelley was eighth in the 800 meters with a run of 2:19.78.
Hope's next neet is Friday, March 29 at home against Calvin College.
