Why did you choose to attend Hope College?
I love the strong science program and the opportunities to engage in research, the Christian atmosphere and welcoming community, the chance to run on a varsity team, the campus, the Holland community... basically everything.

If you have chosen a major, please explain how you plan to use it after graduation. I want to obtain a PhD and pursue a career as a medical researcher.

List a favorite Bible verse and why it is meaningful to you: The entirety of Psalm 121, which is entitled, "The Lord My Guardian." This psalm reassures me of God's enduring presence and protection, even in dark or difficult situations.

What is your favorite memory from a community service project you’ve been involved at Hope? List a favorite Bible verse and why it is meaningful to you.

Where is your favorite place on campus? Why? The balcony of the Chapel, because it is peaceful and beautiful, and I have spent time with some of my closest friends up there.

What is your favorite pre-game music? I've recently become addicted to the Hamilton soundtrack, so definitely that! "My Shot" and "Non-Stop" are both great pump-up songs.

If you could play another sport, regardless of skill, what would it be? Archery, because then I could be like Legolas.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received? Don't measure your own work or achievements by those of someone else. Unless you're the world champion of something - and there's only one person who can be that - there's always going to be someone better than you. But that does not diminish the value of the effort you put in or the accomplishments you gain from it. You are your own standard; you know how far you can go, and it's your job to get there, no matter what anyone else is doing.
