Welcome to today's MIAA volleyball match between the Hope College Flying Dutch and the Albion College Britons. The Flying Dutch come in ranked sixth in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll and undefeated at 6-0 overall, 2-0 in MIAA play. The Britons are 4-3 overall and 0-3 against MIAA competition.
Tonight is the 76th match all-time between the Flying Dutch and Britons. Hope leads the all-time series 71-4, including 3-0 and 3-1 wins during the 2015 season.
Boys and girls grades 3-6 are invited to a free clinic hosted by Hope volleyball players and coaches on Friday, Sept. 23 from 4-5:30 p.m. at DeVos Fieldhouse. Participants will receive a free family pass to that night's home match against Saint Mary's and a free team poster. Join us on Saturday, Sept. 24 for ALS Awareness Day at DeVos Fieldhouse with the Hope volleyball team. ALS, or Lou Gehrig's Disease, is a progressive, neurodegenerative condition that is 100 percent fatal. The Flying Dutch will honor former volleyball standout DeeAnn Knoll Amos, who died in April after bravely battling ALS. Start time for the Sept. 24 match against Adrian is 4 p.m.
