The seventh-ranked Hope College volleyball team is returning for a four-game homestand on a three-match win streak.
The Flying Dutch downed Trine 25-14, 25-22, 25-20 on the road Tuesday in Angola, Indiana in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association action.
Hope (11-1 overall) plays its next four matches over the next two games at DeVos Fieldhouse, beginning with Friday's 7 p.m. Youth Night match against Saint Mary's. The homestand also includes a 4 p.m. Saturday match vs. Adrian and a showdown with top-ranked Calvin on Wednesday, Sept. 28.
Against Trine, sophomore Katie Rietberg of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS) led the Flying Dutch to their fourth MIAA win in as many tries with a match-high 10 kills.
Junior Haley Muller of Grand Rapids, Michigan (GR Christian) chipped in eight kills.
Senior Courtney Van Houzen of Traverse City, Michigan (West) added seven kills against Trine (2-12 MIAA, 2-3 MIAA).
Junior Sophia Hackett of Indianapolis, Michigan (Brebeuf Jesuit Prep) finished with 29 assists.
