The 11th-ranked Hope College volleyball team closed out the regular-season with a 25-13, 25-23, 25-20 win at Kalamazoo on Saturday.
The Flying Dutch (23-5 overall) rebounded from a five-set loss at top-ranked Calvin 14 hours earlier to win a match that began at 11 a.m.
Senior Sarah Feldpausch of White Cloud, Michigan (White Cloud HS) topped Hope with eight kills.
Three Flying Dutch players totaled seven kills apiece: senior Courtney Van Houzen of Traverse City, Michigan (West), junior Paige Baker of Encintas, California (La Costa Canyon) and sophomore Vanessa Reynhout of Freeport, Michigan (Lakewood).
Junior setter Sophia Hackett of Indianapolis, Indiana (Brebeuf Jesuit) finished with 31 assists.
Senior Alexis Thompson of Monroe, Michigan (St. Mary Catholic Central) recorded 23 digs.
Hope finished MIAA play with a 12-2 league record.
The Flying Dutch will be seeded No. 2 for next week's MIAA Tournament at Calvin. They will play third-seeded Saint Mary's Friday at 5:30 p.m. in one semifinal.
The winner faces either Calvin or fourth-seeded Adrian on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the championship match for the MIAA's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
