Goalie Eric Lipon posted a shutout for the Hope College ice hockey team for a 5-0 win against Adrian Black on Friday at Edge Ice Arena.

The junior from Brighton, Michigan (Brighton HS), recorded 23 saves for the Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference West Division-leading Flying Dutchmen.

Hope can clinch the division title tonight at Adrian at 7 p.m.

The Flying Dutchmen took control of the game with first-period goals from freshman Garrett Gormley of Fenton, Michigan (Flint Powers Catholic HS), and senior Drew O'Brien of East Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS).

Senior Caleb Morgan of Traverse City, Michigan (West HS), freshman Austin Huffer of Columbus, Indiana (Columbus North HS), and senior Rob Calvert of Ada, Michigan (Forest Hills Eastern HS), each added third-period goals.

Hope improved to 20-3-3 overall and 8-2-1 in West Division action.
