Coming off a nine-day layoff since their last league match, the Hope College men's golf team captured second place in the final MIAA Jamboree by shooting a team score of 298 at the Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Michigan.
Calvin University won Wednesday's jamboree with a 294. The Flying Dutchmen are now just five strokes in back of the Knights in the overall league standings headed in to the MIAA Fall Finish this weekend. Calvin leads with 1,180 cumulative strokes; Hope is next with 1,185; Trine stands in third with 1,230; and, Kalamazoo is fourth with 1,230.

The Flying Dutchmen lineup finished in the top-15 individually.
Jack Crawford led Hope by carding a two-under 70, pictured. The junior from Carmel, Indiana (Carmel) claimed second place.
Freshman Jack Guerrera of Northville, Michigan (Detroit Catholic Central) fired a two-over 74 and tied for third place; sophomore Logan DeWitt of Zeeland, Michigan (Holland Christian) shot a 76 and finished in a tie for seventh place; freshman Ben Jackson of Fort Wayne, Indiana (Carroll) tied for 11th with a 78; and, sophomore Will Robson of Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids) carded a 79, tying for 15th place.
The MIAA Fall Finish begins on Friday, Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. at the Pohlcat Golf Course in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. The two-day event culminates on Saturday, Oct. 16 with a 10 a.m. tee-off.
