The Hope College men's golf team took second place in the third MIAA Jamboree of the season at Stonemark Country Club in Caledonia, Michigan on Monday.
The Flying Dutchmen shot a 302 while host Calvin University claimed first place at the event with 293 strokes. Kalamazoo College was third with 311 strokes, and Trine University fourth with a 314.
After three league rounds, Calvin now stands in first place (886) by one stroke over second-place Hope (887) in the overall standings. Trine University is in third place with 907 strokes while Kalamazoo College is fourth with 909.
Three Flying Dutchmen finished in the top 10. Sophomore Will Robson of Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids) led Hope with a two-over-par 72 to finish tied for third individually. He was followed by freshman Jack Guerrera of Northville, Michigan (Detroit Catholic Central) who fired a 73 to tie for fifth, and junior Seth Almquist of Minneapolis, Minnesota (Wayzata) who carded a 75 for a ninth-place tie.
Junior Jack Crawford of Carmel, Indiana (Carmel) and sophomore Logan DeWitt of Zeeland, Michigan (Holland Christian) each finished with 82s.
Playing as individuals for the Flying Dutchmen, Ben Jackson finished with a 74 and Will Webb an 81.
Hope competes next on Wednesday, Oct. 13 at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Michigan. The fourth MIAA Jamboree begins at 1 p.m.
