Men's Golf's Will Webb Places 10th at Folds of Honor Challenge Qualifier

The Flying Dutchmen finished sixth in the team standings.

Sophomore Will Webb fired an even-par 71 at The Meadows in Allendale to lead the Hope College men's golf team at the Folds of Honor Challenge qualifier on Tuesday.

Playing as an individual, Webb (Lake Forest, Illinois / Lake Forest HS) finished with the 10th-best round at the 54-hole, two-day event. Webb was 11-over after a first-round 78, a second-round 73 and his final round 71.

The Flying Dutchmen finished sixth out of 10 teams with a total of 906 (301-303-302). Host Grand Valley State University won at 4-under (283-278-287—848).

Freshman Patrick Michael (Carmel, Michigan / Carmel) tied for 11th, one stroke behind Webb. Michael shot 74, 72 and 77.

Freshman Liam Casey (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) and junior Will Robson (East Grand Rapids, Michigan / East Grand Rapids) tied for 26th.

Casey recorded rounds of 74, 79 and 75. Robson went 76, 79 and 73.

Senior Jack Crawford (Carmel, Indiana / Carmel) tied for 43rd after shooting an 82, 77 and 77.

Senior Seth Almquist (Minneapolis, Minnesota / Wayzata) tied for 24th after posting rounds of 79, 80 and 78 while playing as an individual.

Hope's next event is Saturday, Oct. 8, at 1 p.m. at the MIAA Jamboree hosted by Adrian College at Tecumseh Golf Club in Tecumseh.
