Eighteen Hope College Student-Athletes Named to Academic All-District® All-District Teams

Eighteen Hope College fall student-athletes have been chosen to the 2022 Academic All-District® Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® ballots in their respective sports. First- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced this month. 

Hope's Academic All-District® recipients are:

Football

Dylan Clem, junior offensive guard and civil engineering major from Stevensville, Michigan (Lakeshore);

Adam Gill, senior linebacker and business/communication major from Grand Rapids, Michigan / Forest Hills Northern);

Dylan Hillger, senior placekicker and mechanical engineering major from Holly, Michigan (Lake Fenton);

Brady Howe, senior safety and special education major from Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian);

Connor Naklizki, senior defensive lineman and business major from Byron Center, Michigan (Byron Center);

Dan Romano, senior running back and biomedical/biomechanical engineering major from Royal Oak, Michigan (Shrine Catholic).

Men's Soccer

Thomas De Vries, sophomore midfielder from Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian);

Keegan DeKuiper, sophomore goalkeeper and exercise science major from Norton Shores, Michigan (Mona Shores);

Kai Francisco, senior midfielder and biology major from East Lansing, Michigan (East Lansing);

Ethan Jansen, junior midfielder and mechanical engineering/physics major from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Northern);

Kai Jurgle, senior midfielder and accounting major from Ann Arbor, Michigan (Skyline);

Nic Kubert, senior forward and mechanical engineering major from Rochester Hills, Michigan (Avondale).

Women's Soccer

Cassidy Broekhuizen, senior midfielder and exercise science major from Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian);

Emma Dutmers, senior forward and communication major from Traverse City, Michigan (Central);

Natalie Hammer, junior forward and German/social work major from Rockford, Michigan (Rockford);

Jenna Mustapha, junior defender and chemistry major from Ada, Michigan (Forest Hills Northern);

Kealeigh Usiak, senior defender and communication/computer science major from Dimondale, Michigan (Lansing Christian);

Volleyball

Jenna Core, senior outside hitter and mechanical engineering major from Spring Lake, Michigan (Spring Lake).

The 2022 Academic All-District® Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in their sports and in the classroom. College Sports Communicators nominate student-athletes from their respective schools. Nominees must carry at least 3.50 grade point average and be a sophomore or higher in their athletic eligibility.

The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The Division III College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structures to assist College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions Academic All-America® programs.
