Nationally-Ranked Women's Cross Country Places 15th at Greater Louisville Invitational

The 14th-ranked Hope College women's cross country team posted a 15th place finish in the Blue Division and a third-place finish in the Silver Division at the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday morning. 

In the Blue Division, the Flying Dutch competed against 31 teams with a pack of 383 runners at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky. 

Fifth-year Rebecca Markham (Hoffman Estates, Illinois / William Fremd HS) crossed the line first for Hope with a time of 18:28.3 to finish in the top 25. 

Five other Flying Dutch recorded sub-20-minute finishes. 

Junior Maddy Struck (Hainesville, Illinois / Grayslake Central) clocked a time of 18:49.8. 

Senior Olivia Quillan (Grandville, Michigan / Calvin Christian) posted a run of 19:35.1. 

Junior Janie DeGroot (Northville, Michigan / Northville) went 19:48.5. 

Sophomore Molly Durow (Glenview, Illinois / Glenbrook South) recorded a time of 19:49.3. 

Senior Libby Gorman (Traverse City, Michigan / St. Francis) crossed the line at 19:51.2. 

Sophomore Madison Stern (Saline, Michigan / Saline) clocked in at 20:27.2. 

The Silver division team earned a 3rd place finish among 57 other teams. 

Freshman Paige King (Glenbard, Illinois / Glenbard West)  finished at 19:46.3 racing in the pack of 400 runners. 

Freshman Mary England (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Kalamazoo Central) recorded a time of 19:52.4. 

Sophomore Anna Duesenberg (Rocky River, Ohio / Glenbrook South) finished at 19:59.9. 

Junior Madeline Kenney (Livonia, Michigan / Mercy) went 20:06.4. 

Junior Kennedy Kuhlmann (Grand Blanc, Michigan / Grand Blanc) raced to a time of 20:08.2. 

Sophomore Alyson Kelly (Gaines, Michigan / Linden) posted a 20:12.3 time. 

Senior Emily Scott (Naperville, Illinois / Naperville) finished at 20:24.7. 

Hope, ranked first in the Great Lakes Region, races again on Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Pre-National Invitational in Newville, Pennsylvania, at 11 a.m.
