Two blue-chip NCAA Division III basketball programs will represent Hope College at the epicenter of the business world next week.

As part of their holiday trip to New York City, the teams will tour the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, the biggest marketplace in the world for investors to buy and sell shares of stock.

Select Hope student-athletes will join head coaches Greg Mitchell and Brian Morehouse and Hope College President Matthew A. Scogin to ring the NYSE closing bell on Wednesday, Dec. 27, at 4 p.m.

The teams' visit is part of a five-day trip to the Big Apple that includes two basketball games for both teams in the Bronx.

On Thursday, Dec. 28, the Flying Dutchmen will play Yeshiva University for the first time. Tipoff is 8 p.m.

The Maccabees are a perennial Skyline Conference power who were ranked No. 1 in the nation as recently as the 2021-22 season.

On Friday, Dec. 29, the Flying Dutchmen will face Lehman University for the first time at 5 p.m. The Lightning competes in the City University of New York Athletic Conference.

Meanwhile, the Flying Dutch are playing at a CUNY Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament hosted by Lehman. On Friday, Hope faces Salem State at noon. On Saturday, the Flying Dutchmen will play either Lehman or the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford at either noon or 2 p.m.

The Flying Dutch are ranked nationally in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association and d3hoops.com polls.

Hope is one of only three Division III women's basketball programs to win at least three national titles.

The Flying Dutchmen rank fourth all-time in NCAA Division III history with 1,703 wins.
