NCAA Basketball Brackets Unveiled: Women Open at Home, Men Wisconsin-Bound

The brackets are set for the Hope College women's and basketball teams in the 2023 NCAA Division III Tournament.

The Flying Dutch — last season's national champions — will host a four-team, first- and second-round pod on Friday-Saturday, March 3-4, at DeVos Fieldhouse.

The Flying Dutchmen will travel to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, for a four-team, first- and second-round pod on Friday-Saturday, March 3-4, at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

There are 64 teams in each field. Advancing teams from the second round move on to the sectional round on Friday-Saturday, March 10-11, at campus sites to be determined.

In the first round of the women's tournament, the MIAA regular-season champion and tournament champion Flying Dutch (25-2) will face St. Norbert College (Wis.) from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference on Friday at 8 p.m. 

Friday's first game tips off at 5:30 p.m. and features Baldwin Wallace University (Ohio) and Wartburg College (Iowa). Baldwin-Wallace, which is 22-5 overall, is from the Ohio Athletic Conference. Wartburg, which is 21-6, is from the American Rivers Conference.

Friday's winners will play on Saturday, March 4, at 7:30 p.m. at DeVos Fieldhouse.

Tickets are on sale through the Hope College ticket office, located at 100 E. Eighth St., either in person, online at hope.edu/tickets, via phone at (616) 395-7890, or at the door at DeVos Fieldhouse beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Friday and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The ticket office will be open to the public on Tuesday-Thursday, Feb. 28-March 2, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.


In the men's tournament, Hope, 19-9 and the MIAA Tournament champion, drew a first-round game against Bethany Lutheran College (Minn.) on Friday at 5:35 p.m. Eastern. Bethany Lutheran (23-4) is from the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference.

Friday's second game pits host Oshkosh against Fontbonne University (Mo.) at 8 p.m. Eastern. Oshkosh (21-6) is from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Fontbonne (16-11) is from the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Friday's winners will play on Saturday at 8:05 p.m.

Ticket information for the games at Oshkosh is expected to be announced soon.
