The Hope College women's tennis team continues its trend of defeating MIAA opponents.
An 8-1 victory against Adrian College on Saturday opened MIAA play for Hope, and pushed the overall record to 6-5.
The Flying Dutch swept doubles play to start the match.
At No. 1 doubles, freshman Amanda Lopykinski (Lemont, Illinois / Lemont Township HS), and sophomore Sullivan Moran (Birmingham, Michigan / Wylie E. Groves) recorded an 8-5 victory.
At No. 2 doubles, junior Annika Weeber (Rockford, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) and junior Delanie Riebschleger (Rockford, Michigan / Rockford) posted an 8-2 victory over their Bulldog opponent.
At No. 3 doubles, sophomore Miyako Coffey (Cedar Rapids, Iowa / Xavier) and freshman Hope Rhoades (Holland, Michigan / Holland Christian) teamed together for an 8-1 win.
In singles play, Hope won five of six flights, three coming in straight sets.
At No. 1 singles, Lopykinski tallied a three set win, taking home win in set one and three.
At No. 2 singles, Moran earned a victory with 6-1 and 6-4 set wins.
At No. 3 singles, Weeber defeated her Bulldog opponent, 6-3 and 6-3.
The No. 4 singles match was won by Coffey 6-2 and 6-3.
In the No. 5 slot, Rhoades completed the Hope scoring with a win in three sets.
Hope returns home to take on Alma College at the VandePoel-Heeringa Stadium Courts on Wednesday, March 29, at 4 p.m.
