Five Hope College men's golf underclassmen teamed up to finish third out of 10 teams at Trine University's AC Eddy Invitational on Tuesday.

Led by sophomore Ben Jackson's fourth-place round, the Flying Dutchmen posted a team score of 306. Hope finished behind host Trine (290) and second-place Adrian College (297).

Jackson (Fort Wayne, Indiana / Carroll HS) tied for fourth after firing a 2-over-par 73 at Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.

Trine's Mitch Lowney claimed medalist honors with a 69.

Freshmen Liam Casey (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) and Patrick Michael (Carmel, Indiana / Carmel) tied for 11th for the Flying Dutchmen with 76s.

Sophomore John Barce (Fort Wayne, Indiana / Blackhawk Christian) shot an 81 for Hope.

Freshman Klay Redman (Dublin, Ohio / Dublin Coffman) had an 83.

Hope's next event is on Friday-Saturday, April 21-22, at its home course, Wuskowhan Players Club in West Olive.

The Flying Dutchmen host the final two rounds of the MIAA's 54-hole NCAA Division III Championships qualifier.

Hope holds a 13-stroke lead heading into the weekend. The lowest cumulative team score claims the league's automatic berth at next month's NCAA Championships.
