Three teams unbeaten in MIAA play, and the Hope College women's tennis team is still one of them.
The Flying Dutch slammed down an 8-1 victory against Calvin University on Tuesday at the DeWitt Tennis Center to tack on a sixth consecutive win.
Hope has improved to 9-5 overall and 4-0 in league play.
The loss broke a two-game win streak for the Knights.
The Flying Dutch commanded their lead early by taking wins in all three doubles matches.
At No. 1 doubles, freshman Amanda Lopykinski (Lemont, Illinois / Lemont Township HS) and sophomore Sullivan Moran (Birmingham, Michigan / Wylie E. Groves) slotted an 8-5 victory.
At No 2 doubles, a second point came with an 8-3 win for partners sophomore Miyako Coffey (Cedar Rapids, Iowa / Xavier) and senior Taylor Truman (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville).
The No. 3 doubles team of junior Annika Weeber (Rockford, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) and senior Delanie Riebschleger (Rockford, Michigan / Rockford) earned an 8-3 victory over Calvin.
Hope clinched the match by earning victories in the top three singles flights.
Lopykinski picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles. Moran snagged a 6-1, 6-1 win and Weeber earned the match-clinching win at No. 3 singles with 6-3, 6-4 after being down 0-3 in the first.
At No. 5 singles, freshman Hope Rhoades (Holland, Michigan / Holland Christian) picked up a win with 6-0, 6-4 scores, and Truman tallied Hope's final point with a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 6 singles.
The Flying Dutch's next match is Friday, April 7, at 2 p.m. against Trine University at the VandePoel-Heeringa Stadium Courts.
