Women's Cross Country Starts Strong at Season-Opening Comet Open

The 25th-ranked Hope College women's cross country team recorded five of the Top 10 times at the season-opening Comet Open hosted by the University of Olivet on Friday.

Sophomore Molly Durow (Glenview, Illinois / Glenbrook South HS) topped the Flying Dutch during the non-scoring meet by clocking a fifth-place run of 19 minutes, 17.4 seconds at Broadway Acres Golf Course in Charlotte.

Senior Libby Gorman (Traverse City, Michigan / St. Francis) clocked a sixth-place time of 19:19.9.

Freshman Stella Farmer (Brighton, Michigan / Brighton) finished seventh at 19:40.7.

Freshman Amanda Markham (Hoffman Estates, Illinois / William Fremd) finished eighth at 19:41.4.

Freshman Annika Sytsma (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Kalamazoo Christian) took 10th at 19:49.8.

Six more Hope runners placed in the Top 20.
