Men's Tennis Wins Three Singles Flights During Loss at Wheaton (Ill.)

The Hope College men's tennis teams earned victories in three singles matches during a 6-3 loss at Wheaton College (Ill.) on Friday.

At No. 3 singles, freshman Rylan Doden (Fort Wayne, Indiana / Blackhawk Christian HS) rallied to defeat Wheaton's Joey Geisz 3-6, 7-6, 1-0 (8).

At No. 4 singles, freshman Cooper Nugent (Rochester Hills, Michigan / Rochester Adams) topped Wheaton's Andrew Winters, 6-3, 6-1.

At No. 5 singles, junior Austin Becksvoort (Holland, Michigan / Holland Christian) downed Wheaton's Andrew Jang, 6-4, 6-1.

The Flying Dutchmen are now 2-3 on the season.

Hope's next match is Saturday, Feb. 17, at 5 p.m. against Augustana College (Ill.).
