2024 HOPEYS Nominees: MIAA Women's Championship Performance

Note: The annual HOPEYs celebration of Hope College Athletics will be held on Monday, April 15, at 7 p.m. at DeVos Fieldhouse. The event is open to the public. Admission is free.

The MIAA Championship Performance award is presented to the team deemed to have the best or most significant performance in a MIAA Championship match, series, or tournament in a given year. The 2024 award nominees are:

2023 Women's Lacrosse

The Flying Dutch completed a perfect MIAA regular season defeating Kalamazoo College, 20-8. This was the first outright championship in school history. The Flying Dutch then claimed their first MIAA tournament championship in school history with an 18-13 victory over Saint Mary's (Indiana) College, and in the process, claimed their first-ever berth in the NCAA Division III tournament.

2023 Women's Cross Country

The 18th-ranked Flying Dutch claimed their eighth consecutive league title on Saturday at Three Fires Golf Club in Holland after equaling Calvin University's total of 33 points.

2023-2024 Women's Swim/Dive

The 12th-ranked Flying Dutch capped a dominating effort by winning their fourth consecutive MIAA championship by totaling 1,275 points over four days at the Holland Aquatic Center. Greta Gidley and Abby Koops were named as the meet's top performers.

2024 Women's Indoor Track and Field

The Flying Dutch returned to the top of the MIAA on Saturday, winning the league meet with 211 points and doubling the field at Trine University. It was the largest margin of victory since indoor track and field became an MIAA-sanctioned sport in 2016. Hope set four MIAA meet records and finished first in seven different events. The team title was the fourth all-time for the Flying Dutch — all since 2018.

2023 Women's Outdoor Track and Field

The Hope College women's track and field won the two-day MIAA Outdoor Championships in commanding fashion with 240 points. The Flying Dutch finished 74 points ahead of runner-up Calvin University for their third consecutive MIAA team championship.

2023 Women's Tennis MIAA Tournament Championship

The women's tennis team has avenged its regular season loss with a 5-3 victory over Kalamazoo in the MIAA Tournament Finals. This secured the 11th consecutive MIAA Tournament titles.

2023 Volleyball

The Flying Dutch took down Adrian College to close out the regular season and gave Hope an outright MIAA regular-season championship. The championship title is the 15th in program history. Then the top-seeded Flying Dutch earned their fifth MIAA Tournament title by defeating nationally ranked Calvin University.

2023-24 Women's Basketball

The Flying Dutch clinched the outright MIAA regular-season title with a 15-1 league record after being co-champions the previous two seasons. Hope swept Trine, the other co-champion, by winning 75-74 at DeVos Fieldhouse on January 6 and 73-58 at Trine on February 10.
