Men's Golf Alan Babbitt

Men's Golf Fires Season-Best 295, Places Third at MIAA Jamboree

The Hope College men's golf team shot a season-best 295 at Pine River Country Club in Alma and placed third at the third MIAA Jamboree of the season.

The Flying Dutchmen finished behind first-place Trine University (287) and Calvin University (290).

Hope remains in third place at the halfway point of the MIAA season, 10 strokes behind Trine. Thirty-six holes remain.

Sophomore Will Thomas (Portage, Michigan / Portage Central) carded an even-par 71 to lead the Flying Dutch and took third in the 55-golfer field. Trine's Garrett James was the tournament medalist after a 65.

Senior Liam Casey (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) shot 74 and placed 10th.

The Flying Dutchmen also received 75s from senior Klay Redman (Dublin, Ohio / Dublin Coffman) and freshman Kody Vis (Spring Lake, Michigan / Spring Lake).

Freshman Joey Blandia (Richland, Michigan / Gull Lake) chipped in a 76.

Junior Hank Roebuck (Ann Arbor, Michigan / Skyline) had an 80.

Hope's next event is the 54-hole Wabash College Invitational on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 6-7, at Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis.
