Will Thomas Leads Men's Golf During First 36 Holes of Wabash Fall Invitational

Sophomore Will Thomas shot 1-over par over 36 holes at Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis on Monday to lead the Hope College men's golf team at the Wabash College Fall Invitational.

The Flying Dutchmen are in eighth place in the 18-team event heading into the final 18 holes on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Play begins at 9 a.m.

Hope carded team rounds of 295 and 301 on the 6,904-yard course to finish one stroke behind seventh-place Denison University (Ohio). Sixth-ranked Emory University fired rounds of 284 and 271 to seize the overall lead at 21 under, four strokes better than second-place and second-ranked Carnegie Mellon University (Pennsylvania).

Thomas (Portage, Michigan / Portage Central) is tied for 17th place after recording rounds of 73 and 72.

Senior Liam Casey (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) is one shot back of his teammate, tied for 22nd, after posting rounds of 72 and 74.

Freshman Joey Blondia (Richland, Michigan / Gull Lake) shot rounds of 75 and 74.

Freshman Kody Vis (Spring Lake, Michigan / Spring Lake) carded rounds of 75 and 77.

Junior Hank Roebuck (Ann Arbor, Michigan / Skyline) shot rounds of 75 and 78.

Senior Klay Redman (Dublin, Ohio / Dublin Coffman) finished with rounds of 77 and 80.
