Colton Kinnie Totals Six RBIs during Baseball's Losses to Illinois Tech and Chicago

The Hope College dropped a pair of games in Lake Myrtle, Florida, on Wednesday, falling to Illinois Tech, 18-7, in eight innings and the University of Chicago, 15-2, in seven innings.

The Flying Dutchmen wrap up their nine-game, seven-day spring break trip on Thursday, March 20, at 2:30 p.m. with a single, nine-inning game against the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Freshman designated hitter Colton Kinnie (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan / Birmingham Seaholm HS) racked up six RBIs combined.

Against Illinois Tech, Kinnie blasted a three-run homer and collected four RBIs to lead Hope against Illinois Tech. He also knocked in a run with a sacrifice fly.

It was Kinnie's second home run of the season.

Sophomore shortstop Elliott Peter (Zionsville, Indiana / Zionsville) and Kinnie both finished with two hits.

Illinois Tech (5-7) took a 9-7 lead in the bottom of the sixth after answering a five-run Flying Dutchmen rally with a six-run rally of its own. Illinois Tech tacked on nine runs in the eighth.

Kinnie smacked a two-run single against Chicago (10-3).

The Maroons jumped to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first against the Flying Dutchmen (5-11).
