The Hope College men's tennis team topped Calvin University, 5-2, on a dreary Saturday afternoon, in Grand Rapids to remain unbeaten in MIAA matches.
The Flying Dutchmen avenged last season's loss — which ended an eight match-winning streak — by overcoming an early 1-0 deficit after the Knights swept doubles to earn a point. Two of the matches were decided by a tiebreaker.
Hope took five of the six singles matches to hand the Knights a defeat in their league opener. The two teams split the two singles match that were decided by a tiebreaker.
It was the third MIAA victory in five days for the Flying Dutchmen (5-11, 3-0 MIAA).
