Women's Basketball to Play Albion in MIAA Tournament Semifinals

Tipoff is on Friday, Feb. 27, at 5:30 p.m. at Trine.

The ninth-ranked Hope College women's basketball team will face Albion College for the second time in 10 days this week.

The second-seeded Flying Dutch (22-3) meet the third-seeded Britons (19-7) on Friday, Feb. 27, at 5:30 p.m. in the semifinals of the MIAA Tournament, presented by Collegiate Credit Union.

The Hope-Albion winner advances to the championship game on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 7:30 p.m. to play either top-seeded Trine or fourth-seeded Calvin University. Saturday's winner claims the league's berth to the NCAA Division III Championships.

Tickets can be purchased in advance through the MIAA website or at the door while supplies last.

Hope enters on a six-game winning streak, including an 80-44 victory against Albion on Feb. 18 at DeVos Fieldhouse. The Flying Dutch avenged a 60-54 overtime loss at Albion on Jan. 28.

Albion has rebounded with back-to-back wins after losing to Hope. The Britons topped visiting Kalamazoo College, 68-59, on Wednesday in the MIAA Tournament quarterfinals.

The Flying Dutch lead the all-time series, 83-32, including 9-1 in MIAA Tournament games since the format tipped off in 1993.
