Greta Gidley Selected to College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Teams

The senior is a national champion and an elementary education major

Hope College national champion Greta Gidley has been voted to the 2025-26 Academic All-America® Women's Swimming & Diving teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, for the second time in her career.

The senior elementary education major from Franklin, Michigan / Mercy) is one of 24 recipients across Division III and nine second-team selections.

The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes men's swimming & diving Academic All-District honorees for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be nominated, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, carry a minimum grade point average of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale), and must compete in 75 percent of competitions, finish top-eight at a conference meet, or participate in a national championship.

Gidley was one of four Academic All-District® selections this season from the MIAA champion Flying Dutch, who finished ninth at the NCAA Division III Championships. She previously received Academic All-America accolades in 2024.

In March, Gidley swam to her first national title in the 200-yard individual medley at the NCAA Championships and captured five All-America accolades. In February, she claimed MIAA Most Valuable Women's Swimmer honors for the second time in three years after recording six gold-medal performances at the MIAA Championship, including an MIAA-record swim in the 100 breaststroke.

Gidley helped Hope post a Top 10 finish at nationals for the third time in four seasons and extend their MIAA title reign to six seasons.
