The 21st-ranked Hope College men's cross country led the pack at the non-scoring Comet Open hosted by The University of Olivet on Tuesday, clocking seven of the fastest 10 runs during the season-opening meet.

Freshman Logan Westgate of Portage, Michigan (Portage Central) recorded a runner-up, 5K time of 16 minutes, 19.98 seconds in a field of 58 runners at Broadway Acres Golf Course in Charlotte.

Sophomore Lincoln Bosh of Tacoma, Washington (Curtis) placed third at 16:21.48.

Junior Jack Leyden of Plymouth, Michigan (Salem) finished fourth at 16:22.45.

Freshman Keagan Smith of Zeeland, Michigan (Zeeland West) posted a fifth-place run of 16:23.94.

Freshman Lucas Gates of DeWitt, Michigan (Lansing Catholic) took sixth at 16:29.92.

Freshman Andru Koehl of Waukegan, Illinois (Warren Township) raced to an eighth-place time of 16:30.73.

Junior Nathan Roehrig of Heyworth, Michigan (Heyworth) placed 10th at 16:32.98.
