Eli Voisard Leads Men’s Golf at Season-Opening Aurora Double Gun

Eli Voisard topped the Hope College men's golf team at the season-opening Aurora University Spartan Double Gun on Tuesday,

The sophomore from Tipp City, Ohio (Tippecanoe) finished the 36-hole, one-day tournament rounds of 75 and 78 and tied for 25th. Aurora's Caleb Negley earned medalist honors at 10-under after firing 66 and 68.

The Flying Dutch tied for 10th place at the 19-team event after rounds of 309 and 316.

Junior Will Thomas (Portage, Michigan / Portage Central) finished at 12-over after shooting a 77 and 79.

Sophomore Joey Blondia (Richland, Michigan / Gull Lake) checked in one stroke behind Thomas following a 77 and 80.

Sophomore Kody Vis (Spring Lake, Michigan / Spring Lake) posted back-to-back 80s.

Sophomore Landon Bergsma (Zeeland, Michigan / Holland Christian) closed out Hope's starting lineup with rounds of 82 and 79.

Aurora captured first place in the team standings by firing rounds of 285 and 290.

Junior Max Shulman (Ann Arbor, Michigan / Greenhills) chipped in a 79 and 80 in his first tournament for the Orange and Blue.

Freshman Jack Douglass (Lake Bluff, Illinois / Lake Forest) recorded an 88 and 84. Freshman Will DeHorn (South Lyon, Michigan / South Lyon East) shot 91 and 84.

Hope next tees off on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the Carthage College Crossings Intercollegiate 36 at Hawks View Golf Club in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
