Biography

If you have chosen a major, why did you? I wish to make a difference in the outdoor world. I have a passion for fisheries and wildlife and wish to pursue a career in the field.

Who is the best Hope College professor? Dr. Jonathan Peterson because he cared for treated his students like they were his family.

After I graduate I plan to… Pursue a career in fisheries and wildlife.

What gets you in the zone before a game? Music in the headphones and a prayer

What is the best game you have been apart of? Beating Alma to advance us to the MIAA Championship

Who is your athletic hero or inspiration? Joe Welton, he overcame a lot of adversity during his playing days and has committed a lot of his time for my athletic development. I have never met anyone who cares more than he does.

How does your sport bring you joy? Competition at a collegiate level is a good escape. Being able to put my time into a game that brings many positive experiences into my life is something that I would never trade.

What is an experience you have done off? My elbow surgery shaped me in a sense that I learned a lot of appreciation. We never know when our time will come to an end, so cherishing each moment as it could potentially be a last is very important.

One life lesson I have learned from myself. You get what you give. If you are willing to put in the time, the more you will receive in the long run. Doing the bare minimum will slow down the process of perfecting your craft.

Name a role model who has impacted your life. My grandmother, Agnes Haselschwardt. Before her passing, she was one of the most selfless people I have ever met. Not only did she treat everyone the best way possible, but she was would do anything for anyone. She is greatly missed and will always be someone whom I strive to be like.

List a favorite Bible verse and why. Philippians 4:13. This is a verse that has stuck with me because life is a battle, but trusting in Christ and knowing he's got my back at all times makes it that much easier.

The thing in my life I am most proud of. Is my persistence. I have had a lot of things thrown in the way of my athletic career, but I haven't quit. A major surgery put me in a position where I could have threw in the towel, but I am proud at the fact that I have used to better myself and learn
