Scott Lokers became the 12th men's golf head coach in Hope College history on July 1, 2017. Prior to that, he served as a volunteer assistant to head coach Bob Ebels.
During his tenure, Lokers has guided the Flying Dutchmen to MIAA regular-season championships during the 2024-25, 2023-24, 2023, 2022 and 2018 seasons, MIAA Tournament titles in 2023, 2022 and 2018. and five NCAA Division III Championship appearances and two Top-10 finishes at nationals.
Lokers was voted as the MIAA Men's Golf Coach of the Year by his peers in 2024 and 2025.
In his first season, Lokers guided the Flying Dutchmen to a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Division III Championship that matched the highest finish in team history.
Lokers has golfed since childhood, including amateur tournaments as an adult. He fondly recalls golfing growing up with brother, Ray, and their father, Ray. He has worked in ministry for most of his career since graduating from Hope College with a degree in mathematics.
After teaching for two years, he went back to school and received his master's degree in divinity and became an ordained minister in the Reformed Church in America.
