Hope College

Kara Vande Guchte '11 Winton has been an assistant track & field coach at her alma mater since the 2016 season.

Winton had a decorated academic and athletic career at Hope. She earned a degree in accounting.

Winton was a four-time member on the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Honor Roll  (2008-11).

In 2011, Winton earned the John Schouten Award that is presented annually at Hope College to the outstanding female athlete in the senior class. She was named the MIAA’s Most Outstanding Runner that season and claimed All-MIAA honors for the fourth time.

Winton earned All-America honors in the heptathlon as a junior with a third-place finish at outdoor nationals.

She also played volleyball at Hope and earned all-region honors as a sophomore (2009) and freshman (2008). She still holds the team record for total career block (417).
