Bruce Elder has been coaching men's lacrosse at Hope College since 2014. He works with faceoff specialists and assists with the offense.

Elder graduated from Liberty University where he earned his degree in business administration in 1989. He also played lacrosse. 

He started his lacrosse coaching career at Forest Hills Central High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan from 1997 to 2003. In 2002 and 2003, he served as the varsity head coach. He was named the 2002 Division 2 Coach of the Year.

He also was a varsity assistant coach at East Grand Rapids High School from 2005-2010, winning state titles in 2007, 2008 & 2009.

Elder works as an investment advisor in Grand Rapids. He and his wife, Angela, have three children Gunnar '17, Hannah and Rachel '21. Gunnar Elder concluded his playing career as Hope's all-time leading scorer in men's lacrosse and is now an assistant coach for Hope's women's lacrosse team.
