Jari Brown joined the Hope College Football coaching staff before the 2026 season as a defensive line coach.

Brown, a 2002 team captain for the Eastern Michigan University football team, brings in 20 years of coaching at the high school level. He coached the past two seasons at East Kentwood High School, near Grnad Rapids, and helped the Falcons reach the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 1 state semifinals. He worked with current Hope defensive coordinator Alex Smith at East Kentwood. He also was head coach at Wayne Memorial  (2019-20) and Ann Arbor Pioneer (2013).

Brown currently serves as a high school physical education teacher at East Kentwood's freshman campus. He worked as a corrections officer for Washtenaw County in southeast Michigan for 14 1/2 years before pursuing a career in education.

Brown holds a M.A. in communication from Eastern Michigan (2006) and a B.A. in communication from EMU (2002).
