Madison Whitman joined the Hope College men’s and women’s swimming and diving coaching staff on August 1, 2023.
The Wooster, Ohio, native and The College of Wooster graduate spent the past year as an environmental health sanitarian in training for the Public Health Division in Columbus, Ohio.
Whitman earned four varsity letters as a swimmer at Wooster before graduating in 2022 with a degree in environmental geoscience.
In 2020, Whitman qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in the 200-yard breaststroke as a sophomore and ranked 12th in the nation. Whitman was named Wooster’s first All-American in the event in seven years by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America. Whitman also set a school record in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Two years later, Whitman earned all-North Coast Athletic Conference honors in the 800 freestyle relay.
