Outside hitter Anna Lynch and the second-ranked Hope volleyball team cruised to a 25-19, 25-22, 25-17 win at Alma on Friday night in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) action.
The Flying Dutch pushed their win streak to five matches as they improved to 17-1 overall and 8-1 in MIAA matches. They remain in second place in league play.
Lynch, a junior from Lake Odessa (Lakewood HS), led Hope by totaling a match-high 11 kills. It was her third highest single-game effort of the season.
Senior middle hitter Mari Schoolmaster of Portage (Portage Central HS), junior outside hitter Jenna Grasmeyer of Jenison (Hudsonville Unity Christian HS) and junior Amy VanderStoep of Holland (West Ottawa HS) added eight kills apiece for the Flying Dutch.
Senior middle hitter Courtney Earles of Kentwood (East Kentwood HS) chipped in seven kills.
Sophomore setter Lauren Hazekamp of Fruitport (Fruitport HS) directed the Hope offense with 36 kills.
The Flying Dutch return to action on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 4:30 p.m. when they host MIAA rival Olivet at DeVos Fieldhouse Volleyball Court.
