Junior Jenna Grasmeyer and the second-ranked Hope volleyball team served up its seventh consecutive win on Wednesday, sweeping Trine on the road 25-14, 25-20, 25-19.
The Flying Dutch improved to 19-1 overall and 9-1 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play.
Grasmeyer, an outside hitter from Jenison (Hudsonville Unity Christian HS), totaled a match-high nine kills. She finished with a team-high .533 kill percentage.
Hope also received seven kills apiece from senior middle hitter Courtney Earles of Kentwood (East Kentwood HS) and junior outside hitter Anna Lynch of Lake Odessa (Lakewood HS).
Freshman Alexis Thompson of Monroe (St. Mary Catholic Central HS) served five aces, while sophomore setter Lauren Hazekamp collected 30 assists.
The Flying Dutch return to action this weekend when they host part of the Midwest Volleyball Challenge at DeVos Fieldhouse. Matches will be played both Friday and Saturday.
