Hope forward Maura McAfee is the Co-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played through Nov. 24.
The sophomore from Midland (Midland HS) averaged 19 points, 13.3 rebounds and 2.7 steals in leading the Flying Dutch to a 3-0 record for the week.
McAfee scored 20 points and pulled down 16 rebounds in 28 minutes as Hope opened MIAA play with an 88-81 victory at Calvin.
She then added 21 points, 15 rebounds and three steals in an 84-57 win over Hiram, Ohio and 16 points, 14 rebounds and three steals in a 78-72 overtime win over Wisconsin Lutheran in the championship game of WLC's tournament.
McAfee, who is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in her career, shot 51 percent from the field (23 of 45) for the week.
McAfee shares the honors with Albion's Brett deBear.
The Flying Dutch return to action on Tuesday when they play at Olivet in MIAA action.
