Women's Basketball Trio Chosen for College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Teams

Three Hope College women's basketball teammates have been selected to the 2025-26 Academic All-District Women's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators: forwards Maddie Petroelje and Leah Richards, and guard Anna Richards.

The program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom in all three NCAA divisions and the NAIA.

Academic All-District recipients must be at least a sophomore academically, have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and either competed in 90 percent of the institution's games or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.

Academic All-District honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced April 14.

Anna Richards (DeWitt, Michigan / Lansing Catholic) is a 6-0 guard who earned D3hoops all-region and All-MIAA accolades this season.

Maddie Petroelje (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville) is a 6-0 forward who claimed D3hoops all-region and All-MIAA honors.

Leah Richards (DeWitt, Michigan / Lansing Catholic) is a 6-2 forward who earned All-MIAA distinction.

All three helped the Flying Dutch win the MIAA Women's Basketball Tournament and advance to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Division III Championships. Hope finished with a 26-4 record.
