Hope's Shawn Jackson became the 13th running back in school history to eclipse 1,000 yards rushing on Saturday during a 35-7 win at Trine.
The senior from Comstock Park (Comstock Park HS) rushed for 54 yards on 11 caries against Trine to give him 1,034 yards for the season. It puts 12th on the all-time list.
Brandon Graham's 1,525 yards in 1996 tops the Hope record book.
Jackson is averaging 114.9 yards per game this season. He has 12 rushing touchdowns, tying him for seventh all-time with the Flying Dutchmen's David Booko (2007).
Graham also holds that Hope record with 21 rushing touchdowns in 1996.
The Flying Dutchmen (7-2 overall, 4-1 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association) are off until a Nov. 16 home game against Albion that offers a chance to claim a league championship.
