Box Score Two goals in a span of 58 seconds sent the Hope women's soccer team to a 2-0 loss at Calvin Saturday in the championship game of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Tournament.
The Flying Dutch fell to 16-4-1 on the season.
"We had a great first half," Hope coach Leigh Sears said. "We came out in the second half well. We gave up that first goal, and the air came out of the tires."
Christina Dorst's header in the 60th minute put the Flying Dutch down 1-0. Kelly Koets added a second goal 58 seconds later for the NCAA Division III Tournament-bound Knights (18-2-2).
Hope goalie Kat Dickson of Grayslake, Ill. (Grayslake Central HS) made four saves, including two on penalty kicks.
The NCAA Division III Tournament field is announced on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
